Don has some explaining to do here.
I unearthed this old photo (circa 1960s) of one of his "finds," which he called "the whale." You have to understand that this sort of obsession defines Don. He sees possibilities where the rest of us see, well....what you see here.
He held on to this piece of junk for years, swearing he was planning to restore it.
So what happened to this project?
Where is the whale today?

I can't wait to hear. I hope it's restored and he's waiting until August to give it to me for my birthday. :)
He didn't say where it is today, but I found this:
"The six McQuay-Norris Streamliners produced in 1934 were built to be driven by McQuay-Norris engine component sales representatives."
So he did have a rare one! I see one for sale for $149K so I assume I will NOT be getting it for my birthday! ;)
Boy, it is amazing how this little oiece of "junk" could be restored to the original that you see in the blog above!! I really don't know who would want to drive this dinky car; but there are all kinds of eccentric people, I guess!! A museum is the best place for it!
I see I made up a new word in my comment; should have sent it to Eye - Spy first, I guess :) The correct word is 'piece'; so now it's corrected!
When I posted this, I really expected to hear that Don still had it in his shop or that he had junked it. But you're right, Rita, it IS in a museum.
Gotta' give our big brother credit where it's due.
