Yesterday I arrived at school at five o'clock in the morning. I stapled three-hundred programs (two staples each) and then was pleasant and nice to everybody (even the people I can't stand). What, you may ask, possesed me to do this on a lovely Saturday? The love fo the theatre. Yesterday was our regional drama festival, hosted by our high school. For those who don't know, seven schools come to the school and they each have a thirty-five minute tech rehearsal where they spike their set and check their lights and things like that. They then have to put up their set in five minutes and take it down in five minutes. There are two judges who then watch all the plays and critique them and at the end of the day they decide three shows which are going to the state drama festival April 10th and 11th. This brings me to the end of this short paragraph by saying that our show, I Never Sang For My Father, stage managed by yours truly, was chosen as one of the three to go to the state drama festival!!!!

Congratulations!! Isn't it satisfying to know your hard work paid off? I'm very proud. :) But being nice to people you don't like sounds harder than putting up and striking a set in five minutes. So you're a diplomat and a stage manager: a killer combination. You rock!
I second that!! :) Aunt Lo never doubted for a minute that your would not go to State!
Pardon the Blog Queen. I just added this print by Liubov Popova as your stage manager art work! Tell me if you want me to leave your blogs alone...but they do so deserve some photos and I know your computer is slow and contrary!
Cecilia, you sound like a very talented young lady-keep up the good work! You aren't the first in the family to love the theatre. You have a cousin John, who has made it his life; so follow your dream.
Congratulations on going to State! Good Luck!
Your grandma found a cooler photo of state crews so out with the Liubov Popova one. Who the heck was he, anyway? ;)
Without you they never would have had a chance.
thanks.
