Cast of characters: Stewart

Proclaimed a "cool cousin" by Libby, Johnny, Mitch, Beth, et. al., youngest cousin Stewart inherited his reddish hair and un-Simpkins coloring from his mom, Anita, but he's undeniably Don's kid, and our side gets to take a chunk of credit for his many talents.

Stewart is his dad's pride and joy. Don came rather late to the role of father, but when he finally got around to it, he has been dad extraordinaire to Stewart, a super and very talented guy! The basement of their house became Stewart's music studio, and even when he was just a kid, Don took Stewart's guitar playing as seriously as he took his own interests -- which is saying a lot!

See, you don't know Stewart until you've heard him play guitar. And I mean PLAY GUITAR! He's not just another kid who wanted to be in a band, but a true guitar virtuoso. He's all over the neck of that thing. I wish I could include an audiofile of his playing because you have to hear it to believe it! Until he gets discovered, he's living near his parents in Georgia, where he's bought himself a house and teaches high school chemistry.

The youngest of the grandsons, he was a frequent visitor at Mom's and Dad's, much to their delight. Mom always marveled at the way Stewart would just make himself at home and fend for himself. He's probably the most self-contained, talented member of the Simpkins clan, come to think of it.
And although his accent is pure Georgia-southern, it would be hard to call Stewart a Southern "bubba" or lay any stereotype on him. He's just the real deal! :)

Thank you, thank you, Loie, for making Stewart come to life. To think I didn't even know he played guitar seriously. Now I'm waiting to claim him as my nephew when he becomes famous. Bring your guitar, Stewart, and come on up!

Very nice picture of Stewart! We are all proud of Stewart's accomplishments and his musical talent with not only playing the guitat, but composing his own scores!
