To sleep, perchance to dream

As we wind down to the winter solstice, I've gone into semi-hibernation, sleeping as many hours as I'm awake. It's pathetic but true that my favorite time of day is bedtime.

Partly it's because my dream life is more interesting than my waking life. I have dreams in full surround-sound, wide-screen Technicolor that would do Cecil B. DeMille proud. They aren't all pleasant dreams, but they are action-packed and rollercoaster-riding thrillers.

It's such a contradiction. I lead a plain brown wrapper life, but I must have a secret Walter Mitty side that plays out in my subconscious and manifests itself in my dreams.

Maybe its's the drugs. Maybe it's that I'm an intuitive introvert. Whatever it is, it's better than television or Netflix.

Let's see what's playing tonight.

Sleep is my hobby. Enjoy your dreams.

We really should keep dream journals! I have some doozies, too. I'm always surprised to discover that most people dream in black and white when mine, like yours are in full technicolor. If one were in B&W, I would wake right up fearing color had gone out of the world!
