This is a picture of Nannygoat Simpkins before her fall from grace, before (just before) she went oops! and took the first of TWO (count 'em and weep) falls -- before rising from the wreckage and skating on into the sunset over the Antietam Battlefields. About 29 HOURS before she got to an X-ray machine and ended up wearing a blue cast of embarrassment on her RIGHT (and writing) wrist.
Before eating humble pie. Before ending up on the prayer chain list of New Street United Methodist Church.
Hangin' up the skates for a bit, bowed not not beaten. battered but not out of the game. RAISE YOUR GLASSES HIGH!

Oh no! Get back on those skates as soon as you can!
Glad to hear you are on the mend. Now get back up on that metaphorical horse as soon as you can!
I just knew you would blog your experience with that cast on - that's my sister!!!! Keep on keeping on :)
And have you sisters ever tried to fasten a five-hooks-and-eye bra with only your left hand? Can't be done. Or to open a jar of peanut butter?
But the wrist is healing and the bicep tendon has been pushed back into place, so the bruises will heal, and I'm driving one-handed, though my left arm will soon look like Popeye's. Now, how to bicycle with one hand?
Believe me, I would have trouble with everything left-handed! My left arm and hand are there only to balance my body; and sometimes doesn't do that either :)
Rita, believe me, honey, everything is out of balance here and the cast if chewing up my hand now so it has to go. No way it stays on for another 7 weeks!!!
I would instantly lose about 30 lbs if I couldn't open a jar of peanut butter
Where do I buy roller skates?
Connie's Skates online, Bethy; but you should try out mine while I'm RECOVERING. we'll do it this week-end.
