Time to take the gloves off

Maybe it's a sign my old self is coming back, but I've had it with the latest stunt from John McCain in his campaign to become president. Let's get this straight: A man who by his own admission is weak on economic issues is suddenly needed in Washington to find a solution to the "nation's biggest financial problem since the Great Depression." He's so necessary, in fact, that he just can't make it to tomorrow night's debate where he could, in fact, demonstrate to the people of this country just how indispensable his experience is in this crisis. Methinks there's something rotten in Denmark. What a bald-faced ploy to put off standing in front of the public and being caught with his pants down on the economy, among other things.

His "sound" choice for vice president isn't allowed to talk to the press. He's an "outsider" in Washington even though he's been the ultimate insider, a member of Congress for going on 30 years, a "reformer" who has stood against reforming and regulating the financial system in this country. But, wait! Mr. Maverick is going to transform himself again into the nation's savior. Do we even need to mention his mocking of "celebrity" until he helped to create his own celebrity to draw crowds to his rallies?

And here's what's sad. I used to like John McCain. He used to stand for something. He had some spine. Now he is so desperate to occupy that oval office that he will use any hat-trick available to make himself look like something he most patently is not: presidential material. Someone just make him go away -- and take that woman with the lipstick with him. Please.

He must have read my blog entry. The man will show up for the debate. To quote my friend Patti, "....and the crowd goes wild."

This is sad: commenting on my own uncommented upon blog entry.

Looks like I'm sitting here on Ajax Rock all alone, having alienated my Ajax Rock family (well, some of them, no doubt). It's okay. I don't bite.

I only bite sometimes.

I agree, McCain is a chump. Can't stand him or his gal pal. And, like you, I used to not mind him. Al Gore is my Prez.

Al is our legitimate prez -- except the rats stole it from him.

And I'm off to Mexico so I can hide my ears and eyes if these dimwits win. Why can't the people in our country who are afraid of change see that THEY are the ones most likely to benefit from it. It's the oil people and fat cats who will benefit from electing this less than dynamic duo. And I'm scared. Really scared. People need to learn to vote for people who are SMARTER than we are, NOT DUMBER.
And I have missed Ajax Rock and am now back. :) Nobody told me the party had resumed here! :)

It wasn't a party until you and Beth came. I was just sitting there all alone. Welcome back!
